December 16, 2008 (Naga, PI, about 7:15 a.m.)
We arrived in Naga and I was feeling pretty emotional about seeing my parents. "No crying 'Sister' Smith!" But then the excitement won out and I couldn't stop smiling as I hugged my mom and dad! Horray!
Seeing them is the whole reason for this trip!
P.S. Just so you know, my hair is going to look like this (or worse) the entire trip! There's just enough curl in my hair to go frizzy in the humidity.

Ditto on the hair! It's a battle that just can't be won. Hats become the solution later on!
