December 13th we woke to cold and stormy conditions. Though it wasn't snowing in Utah County when we left, we hit snow by the point of the mountain. We boarded the plane on time, but after sitting there for an hour, the pilot informed us that we had been waiting for the plows to clear the runway.
Then he said, "It won't be long now, we are 20th in line for take off." 20th? Are you kidding me? Little did we know, we weren't just waiting in line for take-off, we were waiting for the plane to be de-iced.
Two hours late, we finally left the snow behind and headed to Hawaii where we would find warmth and sunshine! (or so we thought!)
