North Zones Christmas Conference

December 16, 2008 (Naga, PI): After getting our luggage (finally), off we went with my mom and dad to the mission home. We had just enough time to see our rooms, put down our bags, eat a quick bite of banana pancakes (thanks Rosemarie...more about her in a bit), and then head off to the Naga Ward building for the North Zones Christmas Confererence.

It was fun to shake hands with all the missionaires. Wow! They all looked so young! But their testimonies are strong and the light of the gospel radiates in their faces! It was interesting watching my parents interact with the Elders and Sisters--as their mission president and mission mom. It's fun to see them in this role!

After the Zone Conference and because of Christmas, there was a catered lunch--Bring on the Lechon (whole roasted pig)!
And for our entertainment? Presentations/skits by each of the zones. The talent was definitely diverse--some more entertaining than others. Here are the Polynesean Elders & Sisters performing for us.

Here are the Elders and Sisters doing a gift exchange. The gifts they gave had to be less than 10 pesos...and they were very creative!

I know, we're in the Philippines where it is hot and humid and I'm wearing a jacket (the only one I brought, so I know it doesn't match), but the AC was on high and I was freezing! lol
